I have met her in my travels to the US and also at Reunions in Sri Lanka. She was always most welcoming and friendly with her engaging personality.
They have two daughters, Cheryl and Melanie.
Let us all join in conveying our condolences to Cyril and family.

Mahen, thank you for posting this lovely photograph of Cyril and Indrani with their two daughters. I noticed that there were several messages of condolence on the WhatsApp group, but I would like to start the ball rolling on the blog as well.
ReplyDeleteCyril, if you get around to reading this, please accept my most sincere condolence. Indrani was a lovely person, warm and friendly. I enjoyed meeting her on and off in Colombo, when our visits coincided, as well as at some of the reunions.
As I said in my note to you, I first met Indrani at Princess of Wales College, Moratuwa, a few months after I had done my A Levels, while I was waiting for my results. I wanted to have a 'back up plan' in case I didn't get into Medical College, so my cousin and I enrolled at Princess of Wales, in their A Levels class. (Coincidentally, it was there that I got my start in education as well; in the nursery class!) Indrani and her classmates welcomed us into their fold. It was a lovely, although brief experience.
No doubt, Indrani will be missed by her family and friends. May she Rest in Peace.
