Second from left (next to Lama) is Sarojini de Silva (married to Sena Nanayakkara of the "300" batch). She was one of the dental students who were in our batch when we were in the Block. The dental students left for Peradeniya soon after.

ReplyDeleteSo lovely to see the batch so well represented at the 150th Anniversary celebrations of the Colombo Medical Faculty. None of them look any older than we first met in 1962!! It must be the luxury living, good food and the fine wine, as I see from the photos. There are several pictures of all the men together but none of the ladies together. Somethings have not changed since the 60's!! May the feminists in our batch be aware.
We all love to see our friends. They are lovely photos indeed and thank you for posting them.
I am glad to see the familiar faces of Lama,Lucky,Bala,Indra Bandula and Pram. The remaining face have changed beyond recognition over the period of 58 years. As ND has indicated, luxury living and the big Tamashas are beyond my aford.
ReplyDeleteSpotted Lareef, Nana, Bandula J, Lama, Con Bala, Lucky, Indra, Bora, Pram. I am sure I must have missed a few more due to changes in body configuration, hair colour and loss of hair!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Speedy has missed anyone. But please look at what I have inserted later. Sarojini was one of the dental students in our batch when we were block students. She married Sena Nanayakkara (then known as NWWVCS de Silva)who was two years senior to us (dark, tall with a booming voice.)
ReplyDeleteI have missed GNA Nana and Bora who are wedged between Indra and Lama.I have not seen Sarojini for several years and she has become very fairer, after living in UK since early seventies. The tall figure between Lama and Bandula seems to me like my good old co-HO,VPH.Is Chanaka there as well?Wish all of them long life.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't there, but I can feel the atmosphere, the pleasure of meeting up after many years and imagine the conversations I would have. Thanks for sharing the occasion with us by these fantastic photos. Zita
