Many thanks for your good wishes ND.
DeleteThank you very much for all your wishes. Zita, you make me bluch (if that is possible!). I had a lovely surprise at the Meththa Charity event where I was this weekend, with a surprise party with cake and champagne. Fire regulations reduced the number of candles! Meththa Foundation Charity based in Sri Lanka but with a Branch in the UK. The Charity runs two Rehabilitation Centres, one in Mahawa and the other in Mankulam for rehabilitation of Amputees. Sanath Lamabadusuriya and Srianee Dias are notable benefactors.
ReplyDeleteHappy (belated) wishes Speedy! Here's wishing you many more happy and healthy birthdays! The Meththa Foundation event was a good place to to be on your birthday, they do amazing work. A small correction on what you have written above. I don't think I qualify as a benefactor, I merely pulled (and pushed) a few strings to facilitate a sizable donation from the Sri Lanka Medical Association of North America. I believe Sanath L. is on the Board in Sri Lanka. It was a pleasure meeting Dr. Pana and seeing the work they do at their Facility in Maho.
DeleteThanks Srianee. Maybe benefactor was not quite the correct word but your firm action initiated in the USA helped Meththa a lot. Keep up all the good projects you are involved in.
DeleteHi,Speedy,
ReplyDeleteI have a portable electro-cautery machine and a cry machine that I like to donate for use in a Government hospital.I know the local organiser,Dr.Panagamuwa lives in Birmingham. He has not discussed and donations that I could offer.I am aware that he has connection with Soho road Buddha vihara.Birmingham.
