Suren Iyer is in Sri Lanka right now. He and Swini have been here for some time. They arrived here due to his mother's illness. She later passed away a few weeks ago at the ripe old age of 95.
We met last night at dinner at the Boardwalk, Waters Edge.

Nice to see Suren after all these years. I don't think I have met him since we passed out. Funny to see him "not in white" as I always remember Suren wearing a white kit with the shirt always properly tucked in. Sorry to hear about his Mother but 95 is not bad going! Hope he comes back in March. Lucky, please give him my email address and tell him I shall be delighted to hear from him.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I saw Suren was at the reunion in England. I hope his mother did not suffer too much at the end. I agree with Speedy that 95 is a pretty good run. If he is still around, please give him my regards and I hope to see him at the reunion. Srianee/ Bunter m
ReplyDeleteSuren, nice to see you, even though it is at a sad occasion of your mum's illness and even sadder passing away that made it necessary for you to be there. Do accept my apologies. A mother's loss is the biggest and saddest of all at any time in one's life and however old your mum could be. I remember you so well during our batch days and I have only very fond thoughts of you and as a person and you always helped anyone you could and you were a friend to remember. All the best in your life, Suren! from Zita
ReplyDeleteSuren,
ReplyDeleteMy sympathies on the sad occasion of the passing on of your Mum. My sentiments are the same as Zita's.
The last time I met you, I think was at St. Helier's Hosp. when I was doing part of my SR rotation there.
Wish you and your family all the very best
