Remembrance day- by Chirasri Jayaweera Bandara
My memories of Priya de Silva (nee Gunaratne).
My dear friend left us on 8th October 2014.
I saw her several times when she bravely faced her illness. I admired her courage and she used to say "We should look at the brighter side of everything."
We used to travel together in a private car with
Late Kamini Ferdinando (nee Gunawardena) and Padmini Gunawardena to
Medical College.
Priya's and our family lived together in Kandy too and we used to visit each other and have meals together. She was a great friend always with a smile on her face and a great sense of humour. We enjoyed her company.
I miss her very much.
My deepest condolences to Chula and daughters
Sharini and Anjali.
Chirasri, Thank you for this photo which shows Priya just as I remember her- with her lovely smile-
ReplyDeleteKamini was in New Zealand for a few years before she left for Australia and we met frequently then . Her death came as a shock to me and I do miss chatting with her on the phone.
