  1. It is wonderful to respect greatness in a world full of mediocrity.

    1. An Ode to Mediocrity by Biswajit Basu
      In mediocrity I was born,
      In mediocrity I shall die,
In mediocrity I have full faith,
To be more mediocre, I shall always try.

  2. I am certain the Ode to mediocrity has been written in jest. To be born to mediocrity is a tragedy. To aspire to further mediocrity is "carelessness". The poet HW Longfellow's Psalm of Life qualifies life and greatness in his own inimitable style
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
    And, departing, leave behind us
    Footprints on the sands of time;

  3. by Longfellow too-
"The heights of great men reached and kept
Were not attained by sudden flight,
    But they,while their companions slept,
Were toiling upward in the night.

Standing on what too long we bore
With shoulders bent and downcast eyes,
    We may discern- unseen before-
    A path to higher destinies,

    Nor deem the irrevocable past
    As wholly wasted,wholly vain,
    If,rising on its wrecks,at last
To something g nobler we attain.
